    I had many problems with XP when I took the upgrade path especially with drivers. The new installation path gave me a much more stable system.

    Run a System Report... it will tell you what will not work. When you upgrade... Then get all the drivers that will not work in XP... then upgrade... after that... it will ask for the hardware that is not compatible.... then just install it... Thats what i did... the only thing i couldnt install was my 56K modem due to lack of Drivers from US Robitics...

    Cool, I wouldn't do an upgrade, a format then an install is the best way. I've tried both, many times, with XP corp, and the upgrade is like adding duct tape to a crappy car to make it stay together; it works for a while, then it starts to fall apart all over the road.

    Do what you want, you probably know what's best for your computer.

    personally.. formatting is fun

    i just slipstreamed SP3 into my Win2k pro cd.. gotta try it out sometime

    it might not be bad idea to slipstream SP1 with your devilsown rip either and then format and put on a fresh install of things, then update your drivers and all taht good stuff

    upgrading os = bad
    formatting = good

    xp should have support for your hardware..
