in the manuals and whereever, they always tell you to check your roms if they are good as if a bad rom is a virus or something. so i just wanna know what could bad roms really do to your computer? would they just hang up or would it have something worse?

lol dude
bad roms cant do that, bad roms are ones that arent dumped properly or arnt emulated. Some1 could probably infect a rom with a virus, but over 4 years of in the emulation scene, i have never come across one

so what happens when we use a badly dumped rom? it won't run? graphics bad or something?

usually you will end up getting errors, fortunatley there is a rom renaming utility, based on the crc of the rom it names it by its country code [u],[e] or [j] [!] and then if you see something like [h1] you know its been hacked and could be a bad rom
