    gci to dolphin problem

    I downloaded gci to dolphin so i could convert a save i found on Gamefaq but when i convert it and try to load it the game tells me that the card is corrupt, there by useless.

    I look at the file in the mem card manager and all the rite stuff is in there, the game the save date and icon however it is defiantly corrupted since the icons are weird confirming that they didn't convert correctly.

    I can't copy the data over to the working card because the manager just crashes (honestly expected this so I'm not surprised or worried)

    It does with a lot of savegames from Gamefaqs on games.

    Gci to dolphin only supports a handful of games, the rest will complain that the memory card is corrupt when you try to merge/import a save game for the game.

    There's nothing that can be done other than to wait for Cooliscool to release a new version of his memory card merger for Dolphin.

    There is a way to get it to work, but I have no idea what needs to be done. The memory card file needs to be hex edited so Dolphin and the games will be able to recognize/use it.

    However I have no idea how to do this nor am I sure if it will really work, I'm just going by what someone said a while back.

    heh, i wish i understood what i was looking at, i have a few hex editors I've used to mod the splash screens of common programs I use. I'm pretty sure i could fake my way threw forcing a save file if i could read the hex and understand it...

    A) i don't know what encoding CGI/RAW(dolphin) uses
    B) I have absolutely no clue how they set up the data organization and just eyeballing it is pointless since nothing is sticking out, to me, other than the headers giving the image info like disc/sys id game name and video standard.

    I'm not a programmer but i davel occasionally. mostly it makes my head hurt... like now heh ^^;
