Joystick Logitech Dual Shock Controller Issues

I realize this is a popular topic, but after looking over previous posts as well as the Project64 documentation, I can't get my Logitech dual shock controller working.

I've updated WinXP with the latest drivers for the controller. I've verified that the controller works in the Game Controllers section of the Control Panel, and I've disabled the Logitech Profiler per some suggestions in a different thread. I've got Jabo's plugin selected for my controller input. I have the buttons configured in the controller config and I've got the "This Controller Is Plugged In" checkbox checked.

I'm still getting zero response from the controller while running Project64.

Oddly, I was using the pad on my laptop with Project64 till recently (now using it with a PC), and it worked fine! My laptop's WinXP has since been restored though so I can't peek at my old settings for clues.

    Any ideas?

Try the N-Rage plugin found here. If it has the same problems we can rule out a plugin error.

I'm using the "Logitech Gaming Software" v. 5.02, which I found on their site under downloads for the Dual Action control pad. I hadn't heard the term "wingman" before now but can we assume it's the same thing?

I've got an NRage controller plugin, but it's just the stock one that comes with version 1.6. I'll download this newer one, install and see if I still have problems.

    Thanks guys.

Is it really Logitech Dual Shock, or do you mean the Logitech Dual Action?

It's technically the Logitech Dual Action. Thanks for the clarification.

There have been numerous reports across the board that the Dual Action isn't properly recognized in many emulators; I honestly don't know why that is, but I have the feeling that Squall knows something.

I use the Logitech Rumblepad 2 and I use the same software as you do, and I've never had any problems.

PS. It's kind of wrong to call the Dual Action a "Dual Shock", since the pad in question doesn't even have Force Feedback/rumble of any form.

Agozer, your P.S. made me laugh. I see you're absolutely correct, though I honestly never gave thought to the name "dual shock." It seemed to accompany the appearance of all dual analogue controlers for the PS2, from what I (wrongly) recall. I guess I was just thinking of the analogue sticks themselves.

I'm still waiting till I get home from work to try the N-Rage suggestion above from P_025, but what's this about Squall knowing something?

Squall, are you concealing something from me?

Yes, i R Super Hero from mars.

That aside, Make sure the logitech profiler is completely closed, in Task manager. The latest version remains running even when closed for some reason.

Then get the Nrage 2.0 plugin

Well, there we go (i.e for you being Super Hero from mars). I knew you had said something to that effect sometime before in regards to the Dual Action. Hm, better remember that.
