Problem with Dogadon boss in DK64

[Curious]

Before you all tell me how to beat this boss I will tell you I have beat it over and over again. What's the problem you ask? When Diddy hits the Dogadon with TNT for the 3rd time it goes down into the lava. And Diddy waits there on the platform but no Key arrives.

Put simply I do not get a boss key after beating th Dogadon boss.

So I was wondering is there a have boss key cheat for Donkey Kong 64?

I checked the web and the PJ64 Cheat site and can't find a code for the purpose I need. I suppose that would mean there is none?

Oh, that problem? I could only manage to get the bosskey when running DK64 with 1964... In 1964, before you deliver the final blow to Dogadon, set counterfactor to 2 X 2, then throw the barrel, and after Dogadon dies, the key should appear.
