Textures, yes. Look at the 1964 --> High Resolution texture Projects forum.

Someone is working on a editor for SM64. It has not been released yet, and the first version will only have limited functionality.

Please do not ask any questions about when the editor will be released or what it can do unless you have read the ENTIRE thread and can't find the answer. Also, please do not post just to prase VL-Tone or to say what you will do with the editor. We already have enough of that.

I want a program that can let you view roms as a directory and all that good stuff. . . . heh. . .anybody else think that would be useful? ? ? I mean. . .it sounds stupid coming from someone like me. . .but just imagine if you could import and export anything and everything. . .change stuff and put it back in. . .basically . . .like when you install a pc game and you go into the directory and you see all the stuff that if you don't have any programming knowledge or anything you don't know what it is, like .dll's and stuff, and sometimes there are audio files or video files and stuff like that. . and pictures that you can view. . that's the kinda stuff I want. . .I want to go into a n64 rom as a directory and look through all that stuff. . . .

No, roms do not work that way. What you put in must match exactly the same size as the previous textures and even so, it is not gauranteed to work.

Need to download GoodN64 or instructions to use it? Need to check if it's a good or bad rom?

Oh sure, it's called rom hacking. The problem is that it's quite difficult to hack N64 games.

The closest thing you can get to modding are the high resolution textures and a few simple editors for Super Mario 64.

Problem is that it's just a big lump of data. Unlike ISOs where there is a file system, ROMs does not have that, so not, there is not a way to take it apart, modify it and then put it together. They can be modified and hacked, but it is difficult and some things are just not possible.
