    Question Zsnes saves and save states

    Hi again. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with how zsnes stores its information on save games and save states.

    My problem is that when I was organizing my rom collection today, I lost all my savegame information for Chrono Trigger. Luckily I was able to retreive my game information with a full windows system restore, but it would be nice to know what files I need to keep track of for orginization and backup purposes.

    I was thinking that my save games would be stored in either CHRONO.SMC CHRONO.srm, but copying these files from my restore point to my current setup (along with zguicfgw.dat and zsnesw.cfg) did not restore my saves.

    Thanks for any info you can provide!

    .srm = native save
    .zs* = save state

    Are you sure you put your saves in the correct directory? Zsnes defaults to the rom directory, but it is user definable.

    Ah, thanks. Looks like it was saving to my snes9x directory, so I mistook them for snes9x files. I think the save directory got reset when I moved zsnes, making it appear as if my saves were lost.

    So if I want to back up my save games (not my save states), all I have to do is back up the .srm file?
