hey, imma newbie. could you guys help me with getting conkers bad fur day to run. im not sure what to do.

First of all you should get an emulator (for example 1964). Then you start the emulator and you open the rom. I'd say that if you take a look at the readme file things will quickly be clear.

or use pj64 1.6 with all default plugins just set up your resolution and controls and it will work great (1964 is realy good but a litle too hard for newbe)
