Arrow Save problem with Legend of Zelda: OoT

A couple of times that I have played Legend of Zelda: OoT when I would restart Project 64 and pick up the save point that I had set up with F5 on my keyboard, but when I hit F7 to start the game from there nothing happens and I lose the save point meaning that I have to start agaon either from the save point earlier than I had set up or from the very beginning. Sorry if this sounds confusing. Bottom line is i keep losing where i left of and have to start over. Can anyone help with this?

Never rely on save states alone. Use the in-game save feature and only use save states when you really need to (e.g when trying to get some item that be done only once, regardless of whether you succeed or not, for example).

Yeah, the only time I find save states useful is during temples when I have to go out or something. They're a nice feature, but pretty unreliable to be honest. I've yet to have a problem with the save function built into OOT.

is it possible you have changed save state slots.

    try pressing 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5 ,6 ,7 ,8 ,9 ,0 before pressing F7
