forgive my ignorance & lesarm please help

I have no idea about anything that goes into modding. I don't even know if this is the right section. I used the search for about a half an hour and couldn't find anything to help me. What do I need to learn to be able to mod games with Lesarm, or is there a better program for it.

Also, is it possible to combine two roms together and mod them?

What is lesarm? Do you mean Lemasm?
