Translating Rockman.EXE 4.5 Real Operation

Hi all,

I'm considering translating Rockman.EXE 4.5 Real Operation as a hobby. Problem: I don't speak or read Japanese. However I can roughly translate things that are in spanish and hebrew, though I don't speak or read those either. I just get a chart and dictionary and work it out work for word. Sure the grammar is messed up, but I can still understand it. Is there any reason this would not be possible with japanese? I don't know anything about the language structure yet. I just know that they have three alphabets. Does anyone know which alphabet this game is written in: Kanji, Katakana, or Hiragana?



Another problem is that I've never modified a rom before. I'm not a very technical person, I just like fooling around with languages I know nothing about. Does anyone want to give me pointers on how to get all the words off the game in a way where I can translate them and then put them back into the game? I know, I know.....how naieve can I be, right?

Oh well, if anyone knows if this will be possible, it will save me a lot of frustration finding out for myself!
