    y'know how some roms are byteswapped when loaded? why do this at all? what does it achieve? hmmmm? :!!!:

    I can beat you. Just give me 50 years to work out how.

    Well it depends on the byte ordering of the device in question. Rom dumpers have different output formats as well. Thus you could get the bytes swapped depending on how the dumper stored the format. That's about it.
