Can't seem to remember the name of this game...

It's a PS1 game, it was a flight game with a sci-fi twist and you collected jewels as you flew and if you got 3 in a certain order you get an upgrade......does anyone know this game

that might be it......also remember the level select screen was a pyrimid, i think, and you didnt have to go in order. like the third row had 3 levels, you can do those 3 in any order.

maybe Einhander? That's about the only sci-fi flight game i can think of other than r-type.
