To date, Nintendo has never released a console above the price of 25,000 yen ($217) in Japan.
That's a sweet price, and it will help them sell a lot more units.

Yup, good price, but it'll end up as follows:

    Japan: 25,000 yen (217$)
    USA: 225$
    EU: 250€ (275$)

An extremely cheap price indeed. Innovative gameplay + cheap prices is sure to hook anyone up for a good time.

Well, sony's products are always expensive. We musn't compare them to nintendo's. As far as I can remember, nintendo's products has always been cheaper, and they make money on selling them to boot, as compared to the current situation of the ps3/xbox 360, where both companies will lose loads of money on every console sold and made.

I remember the N64 being stupidly priced (in the UK at least). Somewhere around the £350 mark rings a bell. And the games too - I remember Turok being sold for £70! Madness!
