Question Neo Geo CDZ Copy protection

Does anyone know anything about the copy protection on the CDZ console?

It seems any game made post 1995 just won't play on backup disks.

I wonder if it's something in the roms and if they can be modified or there is a work around.

I realise the guys making the CDZ emulator would be the best people to ask but my Japanese isn't all that hot.

    Cheers,
    Claytron

There are ways to boot backups on CDZ. Due to the lack of copy protection on the original Neo Geo CD there weren't many ways to implement copy protection on the CDZ without breaking the compatibility of original games. However, the way to make games work is different depending on the date they were released (before or after 1995) as well as some other minor factors.

This is all the info I can give to you regarding this matter without breaking the Emutalk rules. If you wish to learn more you should look somewhere else for help.

    Hint: Use Google.
