I need some expert help with Paper Mario!

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, but definetly not new to emulation. Only until recently have I delved into N64 emulation, however, and I really tried browsing a bunch of forums before asking this here, since I know you guys get questions about Paper Mario all the time... but..

First, I tried Paper Mario on Project 64 1.6 with all of Jabos plug-ins. Works perfectly... until you get to Toad Town, then the screen starts flickering! I know this is a very common problem, so I browsed forums and found an answer to this... Glide64. Well, I downloaded Glide Wonder Plus and had to use a wrapper to get it to work, since I don't have a voodoo card. Well, when I load it, it gives me an error:

"Your Video Card doesn't support GL_ARB_texture_mirrored repeat extension"

but then runs the game perfect, no flickering at all... however... Much to my dismay I then realized that is nearly unplayable due to the game freezing up when I go to the menus. The menu comes up ultraslow and freezes up the emu...

So then I see people saying 1694 runs Paper Mario well. So I downloaded it, but now I have another problem. The sound is a little crackly, which isn't too big of a deal, I'm using Schibos with P64s RSP. The problem is the graphics. I'm using Rice's Daedalus 5.2.0, and The town in the intro is odd, some of the buildings are made of words like "Start" "Select" and I think even one of the buildings is like made from Luigi sprites, lol. Anyone know what the deal is, or how I can correct it? I love this game and I'd really love to play it through. Thanks in advance for any info guys!

Oh, btw, I'm not sure of my exact system specs, but this is a Dell Dimension 2400, so it came with whatever Dell sent me in it. I have 128mb of RAM, and I think its got like a 32 mb video card, but obviously not a very good one, since I had to use a wrapper for Glide64 and it still made the menus load like crap.

Try disabling hardware framebuffer textures in the glide64 settings. It isn't supported with the wrapper yet.

Thanks, I'll try that when I get home.

Anyone know of any settings that I could tweak that might help me out, on PJ64 or 1964?

I looked and I already had that turned off, so I guess its not going to make a difference, or at least I think I do. Its the "Hardware Frame Buffer Emulation" right?
