Need some good advices for CPUs!

Hey guys, like I said in the title I really need some good advices for Pentium 4 CPUs >3Ghz which fits in my motherboard!
(I really like to buy a 3,6Ghz one, but don't know if there's a version for my MoBo)
My Motherboard is an Gigabyte Pentium 4 Titan GA-8S648FX board with a socket 478.
Now I need to know which P4 I could use (there are so many, HT, EE etc) and how much it would cost.
I like to buy it for Xmas and I have nearly 175 USD. My parents will donate me another 175 bucks. Any help would be really great!

the way it is here...http://www.giga-byte.com/Motherboard...8S648FX-RZ.htm, you can only choose between prescott, extreme and northwood.
A quick google search revealed that the prescotts are far superior than its peers, being my advice to you to get one ASAP.

Get a prescott, they have the largest amount of Cache memory, 2mb and are incredibly fast, my 3.2ghz prescott is a brilliant processor. you'd be amazed over the difference between what you have now and what you will get. seriously.

It is better if your memory is Dual Channel, your P4 will work better. I assume yours does that already though. You *could* get an "Extreme Edition" but the thing is these things cost big bucks and I doubt it is that much faster.

Just careful about those Prescotts, they run very hot.

The addition of SSE3 and the 1-2 MB of cache (depending on which one you get) is very nice. Even though my Northwood gets more instructions per clock than a Prescott, it still gets eaten alive by them.

You could use any Socket 478 processor. My recommendation would be a Northwood C. They are older then the Prescotts, and have less cache, but they run much cooler and have more IPC. Of course if LGA775 were possible, that'd be the way to go.

The fuckest thing ever is, that there are some of my mainboards which are supporting the prescotts and some which don't!
The only different to know which are working and which not is the SN number, which is on the box (which I already lost) or on the mobo (where there isn't any sticker with a number...).
Then I tried all the software I got for my MoBo but the craziest thing at all is, that these "Software" didn't recognize the mainboard at all... it always says, I have the cheap GA-8SG800, which isn't tru, because the model name on the mainboard says GA-8S648FX!
I really NEED help...
