Should It Be Running This Slow?

If there is any help or advice anyone could offer that would be great. Im not new to emulators, but i am a noob when it comes to Gamecube I am trying to run Pikmin 2 on Dolphin 1.03 but i can only get the fps up to about an adverage of 7.00 -8.00 during gameplay. Plus i just formatted my HD and reinstalled windows.

    System Specs
    eMachines T3065
    AMD Athlon XP 3000+
    2.17 GHz
    768 MB of RAM DDR
    160 GB HD
    GeForce FX 5500 256 MBs
    nForce 2 Motherboard
    Directx 9.0c

    All have fully updated drivers

Thats about the best speed you will achieve with those specs.

    Main reasons for this are:
The GameCube is a complex and powerfull little beast to emulete, thus requires specs that simply are not available, thus dolphin and other GC emulators are more 'proof of concept' until machines are capable of running GC games at full speed.

Dolphin is an incomplete emulator, that has room for improvement in terms of speed via code optimisation, dynaREC features to be added etc, however this factor is tiny compared to the previous one meantionned.
