Its amazing how something so simple can take anyone hours and hours.

    1) Download project64 1.6 from www.pj64.net
    2) Install it
    3) find where you installed it, usually C:\Program Files\Project64 1.6\
    4) Enter the plugins directory.
    5) Now you should be in "C:\Program Files\Project64 1.6\Plugins\"
    6) Copy the file named "Jabo_Direct3D8.dll" and do whatever the heck you want with it.

There is not a direct link to it and will never be as that file is part of the project64 package and its authors expressly wish it to not be distributed outside of that package.

ok, because I thought it was an actual file becasue this is what it says when I try to make Jabo my Graphics Plugin...

    ---------------------------
    Graphics Error
    ---------------------------
    Direct3D failed to initialize
    Error code: 8876086A
    D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

    and then it says...

    ---------------------------
    Error
    ---------------------------
The default or selected video plugin is missing or invalid.

You need to go into Settings and select a video (graphics) plugin.
Check that you have at least one compatible plugin file in your plugin folder.
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

This whole thing trying to get this to work has been nothing but fucking hell.

I looked at that page and did everything it said. Well except for the updating my drivers and stuff. I looked for updates last night and found none.

Anyway, when I have the Render set on "OpenGL" and the Video Graphics set on "Rice Plug In" There are no errors that come up. But I don't see any Video, just a blackscreen. But the audio does play.

When I put it on "Direct X" and then put the Video Graphics on "Rice Plug In" I again don't get any errors same as up top. No Video, just a blackscreen and the audio does work.

When I put the render on Direct X or Open GL either one it always gives me 2 errors on the Jobo Video Plugin when I make the Graphics Video Plugin the Jobo Direct3d one.

What should I do? This is so confusing...AHHH <_>

I am not sure. when I do Run > Dxdiag it doesn't say. I asked my step dad but he can't remember either lol. I do know this about it though...

It was $250 and is better than my step dad's Alienware Video Card which is in a $2000 computer. So I am sure it's pretty good, just might not work for Project 64 for some odd reason. I mine as well just get a PS2 Emulator and edit a newer game....Why edit an older...O_o

that's probably the most important bit.

can anyone tell him one of those utilities that finds what drivers you need and downloads them for you?

ScottJC, thanks for linking to that page, wish more people would do that.
