Does nights run choppy on a real saturn?

I was running Nights on SSF2 and the music seems at the right pace, but the graphics were moving kinda choppy, like 20fps. I was wondering if my PC just isn't fast enough or is the real saturn like this too.

What are your specs, and what emulator? Nights runs without much slowdown at all on a real Saturn (and my PC + SSF).
