I have three words to add to Macca's post.

    OI! OI! OI!

It's good to see what the winter olypmics are all about. Caring more about others losing than yourself winning Oh, and letting the Aussies slide past.
Life is good. And I feel great. Coz mother says I was, a great mistake.

He won did not he, and of course he realises that he was not supposed nor capable of winning by his own capacity. But still, he was the first one to cross the finish line and the rest is history... And the african who participated in the men's freestyle swimming, I beleive the distance he was competing in was 50 meters, during the last summer olympics, the one who had never swam further then 25 meters, still holds and deserves the prize for best atlethic performance.

Well that's a little different. Id he'd won the race it would've been the same, but he didn't. The best man won. In this case (the skating), the best man didn't win.

On the contrary, the best skater won. He was the only one capable of finishing the race without falling, eventhough they others were, still are, better skaters they did not manage to cross the finishline without falling or being struck by other falling skaters. Depending on how you look at this situation there are two possible arguments.

(1.) He won because he was the best skater, at the right place at the right time, eventhough his atlethic performance is not adequate to recieve a gold medal.

(2.) They others did not win, eventhough they were better, because they fell before they could cross the finishline, and the worst skater who did not keep up with the high pace was the first who crossed the finishline.

if you've actually watched the footage you'll see the last guy in the pack lost his footing and took out everyone else, hardly fair is it?

although we should be glad no one got a nasty slice those blades on their skates are lethal.
