Optomizing Shenmue II

Hello, i recently got Shenmue II to work on Chankast. The compatibality list says it runs slow, and it does. I however saw a video on a site where someone was running the game in chankast, halfway through the game, with little slowdown. So i was wondering if there are any specific plugins or specific settings that can be used to run the game. My specs are

3.0Ghz Pentium IV
1024MB DDR RAM
128MB ATI MSI RX9200
Onboard Sound
