    Chankast 0.25 graphics error

Hi, I'm new to the forum (and to chankast ). The main purpose i downloaded it was to play rival schools 2: project justice. My problem is that when i start it, most of the screen is black if not for a few pixels that make up an image. When i get passed that and go to what appears to be the character selection screen (maybe...) after choosing an unknown option on a pitch black screen (i can hear the sounds btw), i only see a bunch of coloured rectangular shapes that are probably supposed to be the layout of the game. Did anyone experience this problem, and if they did, how did they fix it?

it might have to do with your graphics card, Chankast generally runs with fewer bugs on an ati video card and a processor(pentium 4 or amd athlon of at least 2 ghz) Other than that just update your video drivers and play with the video settings

I'm currently using a nvidia graphics card w/ pentium 4, and i'm pretty sure it's up to date as it is and i doubt that it's a problem with the game itself because even the chankast beginning screen is kind of messed (screen is all grey with a few boxes near the bottom, they look like they're doing something but i can't tell what )

Have you tried updating your video card drivers?

You really need to specify exactly what your computer specs are if you want anyone to have a clue about your problem. Have you tried the tutorial for chankast at all too btw?

Windows XP Professional, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.66 GHz, 512 mb ram, direct x version 9.0c, using Nvidia Vanta/Vanta LT
I tried playing powerstone 2, i could actually see some images (with a few glitches, for example at stage selection screen, character was replaced with black silouette) but once the fights started it all turned red

Er, Vanta is based on the TNT architecture, so is literally years old, pre the original GeForce. I suspect that the card is greatly inferior to the chip inside the actual Dreamcast.

yea...what he said which pretty much means you may never get it to display properly, you could try a different graphics driver though like 3.xx or something else very old.

yikes, i didn't know it was that old
i'm too much of a coward to try to upgrade my graphics card, i've done too many things that lead to my hd getting reformatted. I guess i can't play it then, boo
