    Rice 6 error

Currently installed and working PJ64 with the default plugins. I also have Directx9

When I use RICE 6.1 the games launch correctly once then on reboot I get the following errors forcing me back to the default plugins.

error1:Can not initalize DX6, check your Direct settings

    error2:not enough memory

    error3:error to start video

    errror4:runtime error

Any pointers would be great because this plugin looks great for everyone but me.

The strange thing is that if I reinstall the plugin works for one game one time the errors only start after ending that game then restarting. They continue regardless of a system reboot or not.

Delete the registry entries for Rice's video plugin, then reconfigure Rice's video plugin. If that don't fix the problem, delete the video plugin file and video plugin configuration file then re-extract them to the \Program Files\1964\099\Plugin folder.

The next solution listed is only if:

    1. Fails the DirectX diagnostic utility Direct3D test or the DirectX diagnostic utility complains about problems with a DirectX file.

    2. Rice Video fails to initialize no matter what setting you try.

    3. Audio plugins fail to initialize no matter what setting you try.

If reinstalling Rice's video plugin don't solve the problem, then the solution for fixing the problem is unknown except to reformat the HDD, reinstall Windows then install the drivers in the EXACT order listed:

    1. The chipset drivers.

    2. DirectX 9x

    3. The Catalyst drivers.

RJARRRPCGP > STOP RECOMMENDING PEOPLE REFORMAT BEFORE TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM BEFOREHAND................ calming down.....At the very least please change your user title, it's wildly innaccurate.

Ok, Copious do any other versions of Rices plugin work? Worth deleting any older entries for Rices plugin in the registry too (there are some uninstall scripts I can direct you to later if needs be).

Try changing modes OpenGL with Fragment shader should work fine.

Sure there is a solution for this other than the notion that you should reformat.

I tried OpenGL and got a blank screen. I couldn't find the FRAGMENT SHADER option.

I did go through the registry and remove all the ric enties and then restart again it worked once then failed with the above errors.

    Having the exact same problem!
Starting pj64, load a rom: then in the left bottom border: "rom loading, 25%"etc.. when at 100% and directx-init, then follwoing error appears:

error1:Can not initalize DX8, check your Direct settings
(in the lower bottom border it stands: "try again without FSAA" but I haven't even enabled anti-al.) (coupius seems to get "Can not initalize DX6".. i get Can not initalize DX8)

    error2:not enough memory

    error3:error to start video

    errror4:runtime error

It is the same with earlier versions of Rice, 6.1.0b, 6.0.0c.. I now use RiceVideo6.1.1beta2 but with the same results.

Of course PJ64 works as a charm with the default graphic plugin, but rice is much better with hi-res etc etc as we all know

I also have the same work-around as copious, IF I delete the dll and ini-file in the plugin-dir, start the emu and choose default plugin, close it, install rice again and restart it works with rice.. BUT after quitting the emu and restart it, I get the same errors.
OK, I can live with that every time I wanna play N64-games I del+reinstall the rice-plugin since it just takes 30-40 sec or so.. but it's quite annoying. And since I'm not the only one that get this error

    btw, spec:
    amd3000
    GB K7V-MOBO
    768 mb kingston
    9800PRO
    200 GB s-ata

I can't get any of rice's plugins to work with project64 at all.
Can't get any gfx plugin to work with project64. I don't think project64 like my graphics card

All I can say is that you maybe installed the video card drivers before the AGP driver. Install the AGP driver before the video card drivers!

Also, could be caused by Service Pack 2.
