    Flash 2 Advance saving question

OK a friend at work bought a GBA and a Flash 2 Advance USB linker with a 256M card. She asked me to help and I can get games on it fine, but none of them will save.

So first, is this normal? (limitation of using a Flash Cartridge?)

Is there something I need to do to the cartridge so it can save?

Is there something I need to do to the ROM so it save?

    At this point I have tried using F2APowerWriter 2.30/2.50 and Flash2Advance USB/XPP Writer 3.0

Any insight here would be great. I am a bit lost with the various terms on these products and I guess not understanding what to do next.

I did check. Not much info of course.

Did I miss interpret the rules for this subject?

I thought it was where to get ROMs, how to put ROMs on, or where to buy the copiers was off limits?

Since my question was more about ROM patching or use of a particular piece of hardware I thought it was OK? If not I'll of course ask this thread to be closed and just keep on keeping on.

True you didn't put it in GBA emulation section, but Gorxon closed the thread. Just trying to keep ya out of trouble.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I was trying to follow the main forum rules on posting. Since I saw nothing in there related to my questions I went for it, lol.

Well, I can't say it is directly against our rules, but I'd like such discussion kept to a minimum as it isn't really relevant to this forum.

I'll be nice and point you in another direction though:

Try to search for your problem there and post there instead.

Understandable. Thanks for the link it did get me going in a better direction then I was headed.

I did figure out the issue after a lot of looking and digging. Apparently the version of software she had for writing will write no problem, but when using a 256m flash cart actually has a save "bug" of some sort. I found several who had her same issue and just switched to a different writer that fixed the issue. IT worked here as well.

Thanks for bearing with me today. Emutalk is excellent.
