    Using wheels with n64 emulation

I got two steering wheel controllers, both go in the USB ports. Was wondering if there's a way to play some N64 racing games with them. Me and a buddy of mine got some racing games ready, and we got two wheels, just not sure if it's compatible or not. I suppose it would vary from game to game, but i'm just wondering if wheels are compatible with any N64 emulator, and which one. I tried Project 64 and 1964...didn't test it out a whole lot, but i couldn't get my wheel to work. Perhaps some tweaking is required. I found some old plugins that might help.

Would love to play some Rush 2 with my wheel

Since most racing games on the N64 use the stick, I suppose Windows would have to set the wheel as the x-axis. I've never used a wheel myself so I don't know how Windows and/or the drivers would set it up, nor if it could be changed.
