N64 Importing natural save from 1964 to Project64

I've played through banjo-tooie in 1964, but I realized that certain types of collision detection are off which restrict game progress.

I looked through the 1964 save files and found my natural save, which is a 4K .eep file. I moved it to my project 64 save directory, and renamed it to the right filename, but no luck..

Any solutions to this? Or does anyone know how to fix BT with 1964?
