    Smile Beat'em up nostalgics...

If you're like me, I suppose you all enjoyed playing beat'em ups in the early 90'. But today these games have long gone out of fashion and we don't see much of them anymore, either on consoles or in arcades. The only solution for the nostalgics of the genre is to play them on emulators, and this is the purpose of this topic. I will list below the beat'em ups i remember to have played in my whole gamer life on different systems. I guess I will probably forget some good games out there, or maybe I just never played it ! If that is the case, just add the game(s) to the list in another post, this way both the nostalgic and the casual gamer may find something new to try if he never heard of this game before. Well... here we go, enjoy ! (Note that I will only include side scrolling beat'em ups to the list, not one on one)

Nes: - The legendary Double Dragon serie (1, 2 and 3) is the only one i can think of, i was really too young back then.

Snes: - Battle Toads in Battlemaniacs
    - Battle Toads and Double Dragon - The Ultimate Team
    - Captain America and the Avengers
    - Combatribes
    - Final Fight Serie (1, 2 and 3)
    - King of Dragons
    - Knights of the Round Table
    - Legend
    - Rival Turf
    - Super Double Dragon
    - The Thick

Sega Genesis: - Streets of Rage serie (1, 2 and 3)
    - Golden Axe serie (1, 2 and 3)
    - Blades of Vengeance

NeoGeo: - Sengoku serie (1,2 and 3... Sengoku 3 being the
best beat'em up on Neo geo)
    - Robo Army
    - Mutation Nation
    - Ninja Combat (Really not very good, even for die hard fans)
    - Burning Fight

This ends here for me, these are the ones I remember to have played. I probably never played a lot more than these on other systems, so if you guys want to complete the list a bit, I'm looking forward for new nostalgic beat'em up challenges !

P.S : Sorry if I made any mistakes, my english is still not very good.

    Battletoads (NES, arcade)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series (NES, arcade)
    alien vs predator (arcade)
    Golden Axe (various platforms)
    several Marvel superhero games(various platforms)

there are tons more (many of the arcade "beat 'em ups" are fully emulated even, unless they're newer ones which just won't be supported just yet.)

The Best Arcade Fighters I can remember (and probably still playing sometimes) are the *** vs *** ones... like Capcom Vs. SNK, Marvel vs. Capcom...
They are quick, a lot of effects and crazy moves...
AND WHY HAVE YOU FORGOT Street Fighter in your SNES Collection?

Because I only listed side scrolling beat'em ups. However, I do agree with you, Capcom VS SNK and Marvel VS Capcom are very good. And Street Fighter is the best fighting game ever

    Yup. Sure was.

Lets go back a bit further this time....

IK+ - C64 - Best beat em up ever! Most replay value. Took *real skill* to get to Black Belt 8th Dan.

    even further....

Way of the Exploding Fist - C64 - Great game - basically a ripoff of...

Karate Champ - The first arcade game I really got into. Two Sticks. Lots of possible moves and BULL RUSHING

Was Yie-Ar Kung Fu ever out for the C64? We had it on Amstrad and BBC, amazing game!

Also, Ninja Warriors on the Amstrad CPC, fantastic!
