Project64 crash

Project64 (1.5) keeps crashing my computer, Roms load fine but it stops responding after being played a while. (which is between 2 and 30 minutes). I tried changing plugins but the problem persists, independent of the ROM I choose.

Is there a way to solve this problem?

some programs crash cause you do things they don't like, like windows for example (which hates just about everything)

try and see if your pc hangs after playing an intense 3d game
all advice i can give you is upgrade to XP Pro

I agree with shiek 124.

The problem could be win98 as it not the best op system for N64 emu.


There could be a problem with ya direct x so i would see if a program hangs on a 3d game for pc.

It could be the cpu is getting hot and this can crash the system as well.

Getting a new heatsink could sort the problem if it is.

Actually, I can play any other game without any troble of the sort. I really think the problem lies with the emulator, because i tried 1964 which doesn't crash at all... Only it doesn't make my favourite rom playable...
