Does having a different bios affect how the game runs or if it runs at all? cos a couple of my games that are in the compatability list run strangely eg. soul calibur. Any opinions?

when i play killer instinct on U64 3.05 and 3.01 it runs pretty much perfectly except all low frequency sounds (eg. footsteps, glaciers cloud) just turn into anoying crackle. I'm pretty sure it's not the sound card because the card samples the crackle e.g i can change how much treble and bass...
