Well here is a really interesting speech from Nintendo's Peter MacDougall. Its pretty much about his views on nintendo and situations it has to face (Rare, Onine gaming, Mature gamers). Its a good read if your interested.

Mods, if you want to move this topic to gaming fell free to, but since its not about a particular game, rather Nintendo i chucked it in here :)

How about the ending for you people too lazy to read the whole speech

"Nintendo is in the software business - to stay. Nintendo is in the handheld business - to stay. And Nintendo is most certainly in the home console business - to stay. Work is well underway on the successor technology to both Game Boy Advance and Nintendo GameCube.

The industry future is bright and Nintendo’s future is equally bright. In the end, this business is all about a game player saying, “Man, that’s cool!” In generating that kind of response, we feel we hold a unique combination of assets: deep financial reserves, a history of both business flexibility and product innovation, unrivaled, world-renowned game franchises, powerful partnerships with second and third party developers, and an absolute dedication to one simple goal - the very best in video games.

And consequently, the very best of Nintendo is still to come. "

gah...... :)

And, I'm sure Nintendo has some more tricks up their sleeves than they seem to have...

i keep telling you:

if nobody bought console hardware, we wouldn't have to buy 4 consoles to play all the games. we could just play all the games on pc because nintendo/ms/sony/etc. would be forced into the software industry only, and all of these rad games would come out for the computer that you already own (and yeah, you'd need an occasional upgrade, but who doesn't love to upgrade anyway?!)

now it's time:

"hey man, that'd be cool."

now imagine the same scenario only with everybody gaming on a LINUX pc/console.

that would be really, really stinkin' cool.

but the sheep love to follow the shepherd right to the slaughter, don't they?
