What's new

I know you're probably sick of seeing this but ...

I've done a search of the forums and I've seen there are a lot of topics relating to it but none of them seemed to cover the problem I'm having. It's with Paper Mario. I'm not getting flickering, stuttering or black boxes around any of the sprites. All that's fine, even on my TNT2 (which goes to show it can be done, if hte plugins are configured right).

No, my problem is due to a really, really weird crash. It's right after where Mario first meets Peach and Bowser's Castle rises up underneath Peache's and floats off into the sky with it. At the very end of that scene it hangs and gives an error message. I've tried running it whilst nothing else is running and I've never used cheats at all with it.

The error is:

EIP: 0x6443EA18

EAX: 0x0000013F EBX: 0x0000013F ECX: 0x0054FFC6 EDX: 0x0054FFC6 ESI: 0x00000000 EDI: 0x009A0000 ESP: 0x6776FAF8 EBP: 0x6776FFBDC

Virtual Address: 0x00EFFC6
Within DRAM? Yes, 0x0054FFC6 is past 0x003FFFFF

Rom Image: PAPER MARIO
rDP PC: 0x0024BAA8 (data: FFB0008CFFD4FFC4)

You may be able to continue, but it is recommended you close this program.

[ OK ]

After I click OK, halt city. I've tried reloading from a save right before it and I've tried restarting the game. According to Good this is a valid image so ... ? I'm clueless, can anyone solve this oddball mystery?

My specs:

AMD Athalon 1600XP
TNT2 M64 32MB RAM
756MB DDR RAM
1024 Sound Blaster card
VIA based mobo.
Um ... 120GB in total of hard disk space and about 90GB free if that's relevant.

I'm not sure what else I can tell you. Thanks for any help you can provide anyways guys.
