View Full Version : Any tips for speeding-up mozilla?

I've been searching but haven't found anything useful. I used mozilla once long ago, can't remember which build, but I don't remember it being so slow. I've been playing with version 1.0 and 1.0.1, and they're both terribly sluggish compared to IE. I'd swear I was on a dial-up connection again. Ok, that's a bit of an exaggeration :sly:, but it's still much slower to load pages than IE, especially when many images are present.
Any tips, sites, recommendations? :)

Use Opera :sly:

Yeah... opera loads about as fast as IE, and renders pages as fast or faster. Only problem is lack of support stuff like dhtml (I think) You can look it up yourself at http://www.opera.com .

Thanks guys. As a matter of fact, as soon as I posted that message I remembered Opera. Never used it before, but I'll be trying it soon.
Still taking tips on mozilla though, for future reference. :)

operas brilliant if you're an impatient webuser with a fairly fast connection (like me, i usually have 10-12 windows loading at the same time). its never ever crashed for me but some java sites dont work properly. DONT use it for online shopping either, if the shop uses javascript (which most do) its likely you'll miss something important or end up ordering about 20 times/

Mozilla has always been faster than IE for me, but I haven't used opera in years.
