I'm sorry, but there is no mention of Final Fantasy in that comercial and um, I dont think there ever will be in a game cube commercial. Sony owns a great deal of stock in Square, the chances of N getting their hands on it are slim.

Wow,that looks incredible. Now i certainly want this console.
Thanks for the link Josep.
Eagle, look at the commercial one more time, there are indeed some parts of Final Fantasy.I pretty sure the chances that Final Fantasy series will back at Nintendo consoles are...mmm...like 100% :)
Look at this link : http://cube.ign.com/

Eagle: Yes there are a few seconds of FF (4 I think). http://files.games.ihug.com.au/news-files/gc_ffonly.mpeg That is a small file that has only the FF bit.
ShadowPrine: Eagle was talking about whether Sony would allow an FF game to be in a GC commercial, not whether it would be on the GC at all. I think Sony owns about 19% of Square, but the thing is this FF game isn't technically being made by Square. It's being made by a subsiduary (who's name I can't remember atm), and this company is pretty much solely funded by Nintendo.

Sony doesn't after the annoucement and the use of FundQ funds, Sony summoned the head of Square to their offices ;)
the FF series is all based around single stories anyway, so they haven't lost anthing like a trademark character

yup, sony owns about 18 or 19 percent of square, which means diddly as far as limiting square to one console;) i believe they'd have to own considerably more than half of square to keep from square making gamecube titles;)
So this Nintendo FF is supported by square
hehe, don't think they could use the title "Final Fantasy" anywhere without it having something to do with square;) copyrights and stuff;)
hehe, yes eagle that is ff in those commericals as others have said;)

not much more than half, anything over 50% of the company and they could make those decisions. Course since they own only 19%, then 32% of the other shareholders could still vote against it if they wanted to.

Hmmm, I see. The catch here is that its not part of the Final Fantasy Series. While it bears the final fantasy name its closer to Final Fantasy for game boy or final fantasy tactics than the actual series of FF games. Both Final Fantasy GB and FF Tactics were not orginally supposed to be a FF game at all they just changed the name at the last minute. FF11 will still only be on PS2 and PC and if they make a FF12 I'm sure it will stay as well.
