Schibo, Rice, why did you do this?
And you too Zilmar and Jabo.
Azimer, I know you had a hand in this.
Even Smiff played his part.
And not to mention EPSILON and REALITYMAN!!!

Why have you inspired me to begin writing an N64
emulator. Who gave you the authority to do such a thing?
Is The World Not Enough!

All I will say is this:

It will be written in C and the preliminary title is:

Simply64 (Subject to change)

Progress seem OK, and I'm not an expert in C either, but I
think I know enough about N64, static and dynamic
recompilation to get SOMETHING done.

Wish me luck!

Without much experience of the language you're working on, you won't get very far...
So, before starting an emulator, i say u should learn C better.

I said I wasn't an EXPERT, I know the language well enough, and
emulation WILL see another n64 emu in due time.

You insult my intelligence. I've taken my valuable time to plan,
gather information, and sharpen my programming skills to give
an effort for something we all like. If you didn't like emulation,
you wouldn't be here.

More importantly, I'm doing something that challenges me and
I plan on giving 100% in all my efforts.

Thanks for the great support.:plain2:

who knows he may just produce something good .. do not be negative .. Granted a lot of people who want start an emulator ever get it up to a good level .. but some do as you have seen .. good luck.. it takes a lot to do something good .. but even trying to will challenge and you will a lot. Just do not expect much for a while .. but keep at it.

although i dont believe in a thousand years he can make an emu, u dont have to be an expert or even know alot about the language u wanna write it in. Zilmar for example didnt know C until he started pj64

Yeah, don't listen to them :plain:

As long as you don't claim to have a wonder-emulator that runs everything yet no proof of it actually working you have me on your side.

Good luck with the emulator. :)

NiCe :D

My best wishes goes to you!
Hope you make a great emulator...
By the way are you going to use zilmar plugin spec?

Peace Out

I wanna start a Gfx plugin after I'm done learning C++. Let's hope I can get far enough on it ;)

Hehehe :P

Sounds like Brazil !

By seeing the kind of "introduction" on his first post, I would say that this guy read "Learn C in 7 days" by SAMS and thought that it would be neat to code his own emulator.

Still funny tho..

Heh, sometimes they act like morons without telling why.
Yes, a new emulator would be intresting, hope you luck. But I still think u should at least learn C a little better or at least know c++ good before starting an emu.

Yes, and don't be like all those stupid emu authors, use MFC the core of c++ to make the interface, it's easier !!! :)

(Just kidding, good luck if you are serious HigherHeat)

HigherHeat,
Good luck with your project. Just remember that programming your emulator is an adventure... Explore, understand, and have fun. Don't try to build Rome in one night. You will only end up with code you can not truly understand and be proud of. How's that for some inspiration? :)

good luck.

but since there are so many good n64 emulators out there; do we need another one ?

/me looks at leaked source and open sources.
/me looks at script kiddies.

Why not take a look of the UHLE src first to see if you can understand it or if you can do anything better?

It is always appricated with new young authors. The more exciting it is to follow.
So we always appreciate and respect new emu athors :)

Just wondering, why do u give uhle as an example of source code and not 1964 ?

'cause I wonder how good UHLE can get to if someone works hard on it. UHLE is bad though, I believe it could get better, just need more work.
