The surface tear down has an interesting battery pack obviously it's not the standard laptop 18650 pack based design but a lithium polymer battery (thin).
That tiny camera is 1280x720p (seriously). What was kind of weird is they used a TI part (TPS659110) for power management that was designed to be used with the TI OMAP series.

You have a good point there, if you EVER need to take your hitech 'stuff' apart that would be the place to find out how. Some of the madness (method?) they use to hold the gadgets together is quite confounding.

A lot of the newer portable stuff relies on the case to diffuse the heat from the processors (so they are made of alumnium) instead of air flow. I always thought it kind of strange when I heard a wirring sound and my hand got hot next too a laptop! Although if it's cold in your room that works well as a hand warmer I guess.
