Dunno if this has been posted before, but look at this:

See where they got that design from?
Nice to see MS biting the dust and having to release a second controller btw :D ;)
-edit- That is the new controller they will be releasing....it is much smaller and much like the GC controller....bastards

it looks a hell of a lot like the Saturn Analogue pad too.
edit: If I buy an X-Box I'll be buying these controllers ;)

Yeah, me too, looks a hell of a lot better.
Although, I'm sorry, but I don't see the Nintendo likeness at all. :)

is a copy of all gamepad designs:
- gamecube analogue sticks and d-pad placement
- ps2 pads4-button diamond shape
- ps2 pad's general mould (squint ur eyes, and it practically looks like a ps2 pad...uve kinda gotta squint them a lot, so the d-pad looks like the ps2 pads duel joysticks ;) )
not very original

eyes hurt from all the squinting and still saw nothing

All I can say is lol, altho I hated the NGC controller.
The '4-button diamond' came from the SNES, then got stolen by the PS, DC, PS2, and countless cheap PC pads :D

OMFG, that was the Saturn controller? It hardly looks comfortable at all.
By the way, I`m looking at that controller up there, and I don`t see resemblance to the GC controller. Post a pic or something.

It has a similer design to many controllers I've seen but so what? I don't really like the X-Box but it's good to see they are listing to the many complaients. Maybe in a few years the X-Box will be in a form I like :)

If I buy an Xbox, I`ll be buying an extension for my house...
(see what I did there?)
Besides, this is hardly shocking since M$ basically painted a DC pad black in the first place...

if they do that to the console then ill consider. (doing so will break the laws of physics)

Yeah, I see what you mean. It's got a d-pad, an analogue stick, and some buttons. Now I see it. :P

and if you squint it looks like the original nes pad

Or a blurry blob with buttons on it.
But I thought the whole point of the issue was that people don't really want huge amounts of creativity in their controllers... It's the games that matter, and a good familiar controller is best for making playable games.

The point is, they don't. All we're looking for is a bit of comfort. Unless you think holding a house brick is comfy, that's why M$ finally realised they needed a change of pad.

I think that MS decided to try and appeal the jap people. They are used to use smaller controllers.
