OK, just graduated high school today, well senior check out, well of course high school sucked, O sooo glad its over with, but of course, anyone else that has graduated high school feel free to post whatever about it;) i passed respectively with a 3.7, C in trig., A in english AP, A in Pysch AP, A in Environmental Science AP, and then wind ensemble and marching band of course an A in both;) Here come college chicas;) YEA!

well, same here. im only an exchange student, but hell with it ;) i had my last day yesterday, now perfect freedom for a while :) graduation at 28th ...

I played the Trumpet and later switched to Euphonium in our Wind Ensemble (we called it Symphonic Band then) but alas those days are over. I don't play any more, college took away all my time for that.

its the grade point average. the best possible is 4.0, which means u have an 'A' in all classes.

Yeah, I graduated with a 3.68 in HS. When I got to college it got much harder. I just graduated jr. college with a 3.25 and barely squeaked out a cume laude rating.

your all lucky those who are done, i don't graduated to till june 14th, exams don't start till june 10th, but i only have like 3 i have to take, but still, i have like 3 more weeks till i'm done.

yes of course i played the trumpet, and obviously i can play a cornet and piccolo trumpet AND french horn, it was pretty cool, usually play on a 3c, 5c is nice for jazz

3c is a size motuh mouth piece for trumpet for you non players. I usually use a standard 7C and squeek out a F above high C on it. on the smaller ones i can goo dubble to tripple high. (been playing 9 years) and I also used to play French Horn when they needed me to. nothing rox more than a nice trumpet solo. I was 1st chair in the Concert band and WOULD have been first chair in Wind Ensamble if i didni't move the year i made it.

I played a 7c my first year of middle school, got a 5c the next year and then went to a 6 1/2 AL Euphonium the last year of middle school. I stayed with the 6 1/2 all my Euphonium years, except Marching season, when I used a upright baritone and had to get a mouthpiece with a thinner shank than the Euphonium (a Euphonium has a wider bore so it needs a wider shank mouthpiece than a baritone). I have no idea what size cup it was, but it was probably the same.

weak! tri-force! hehe, the smaller you go with mouth pieces the more you cheat!! hehe, i got a friend that can squeak high F's with a 1 and a 1/2 c, he's also getting a full ride to UCLA tho too;) highest i got was with my 3c at a double A flat, hehe, it was flat cause it was hella hard to keep up;) don't tell me tri-force you use that damn bobby shew mouth piece thats like flat with no cup, its like a 14aa or something like that, anyone can squeak out a high F over the high c, hell i can;)

Not really, smaller mouthpieces but can be more difficult to play. Thats the same reason many trumpets and french horns often switch to euphonium and baritone. In my case my lips were too thick to play the trumpet effectively cause of the small mouthpiece, so it had to go. When I switched to Euphonium (Treble Clef) I made first chair and kept it all year till I got to high school. My sophmore & junior year I stayed second chair to a junior/senior, and I kept first chair my senior year. Basically, the thicker your lips are, the harder it is to play a small mouthpiece. And everybody has lips so even if you have thin lips, the smaller the mouthpiece cup is, the harder it gets.

However, Some people have specially made mouthpieces to allow them to "cheat" that are nearly paper thin. The number size represents how deep the cup is, not the thickness of the mouthpiece itself.

hehe, whatever;) my point was that it is MUCH harder to hit high range notes on the trumpet with bigger mouthpieces, 1 1/2 c is MUCH harder to use than a 7c to hit high range notes, thats just what i was getting at;) cheating mouthpieces: custom bobby shew mouthpiece;) Flat as a door;)
