VF4Cart and VF4Evocart not working

I can't seem to get the cartridge versions of Virtua Fighter 4 or Evolution working. Both show the NAOMI2 screen, then a black screen, then white or grey (grey for vf4cart, white for vf4evocart) and then crash a bit afterwards.

Any help?
