i downloaded and installed project64 and it took over all of my icons. whenever i click on an icon it opens pj64, and it doesnt even work. how can i fix this?

Did you get it from the official homepage or somewhere else?

Its been known for people to distribute it with viruses if you got it somewhere else.

Sounds like a virus to me, next time make sure that you only download items from trusted sources such as the official website for PJ64 or if you do download from a different site at least do a virus scan on the item downloaded.
