"plz insert disc" HELP

So I've been up all night trying to get this emulator to work. I've read all the posts and watched all the videos, but none have adressed my problem.

I have daemon tools running with the image mounted. I know its definitely mounted cause wmp comes up trying to play it as audio. Anyway i start the emulator, select the drive, hit run. I see the icon. starts making funny sounds. I go to play but it says "Please insert disc". At which time i scream " I ALREADY DID!"

any help would be appreciated

Chankast's disc detection routines are rather buggy, and oftentimes unreliable. That or then you haven't mounted a Dreamcast disc image to begin with.

Then again, you can always try another emulator, seeing how Chankast is ancient and lags behind all the "decent" Dreamcast emulators feature- and emulation accuracy-wise.
