actcually rememberence is a reason have a holiday. not just to have a day off of work or school. a lot of people gave their lives and a lot of people were killed. i think we should have a day of memorial for the ones who sacraficed their lives and for the ones killed by the inital attacs. but by no means will i encurage someone to sign a petition just so they can have a day off. do it for the right reason not so you can play games all day on the Sep. 11th every year.

Making September 11th a holiday would be a step in the wrong direction, the talibans and other hostile people would take this as a victory and not to mention the direction you are taking towards this jvovel. You are benifiting or even worse trying to benefit from other peoples misfortune. :/ If anything, americans should make Sep 11th a day of strenght and solidarity, united you stand...

a 2 min silence or something is more worthwhile. at least then u will remember ppl instead of simply using a whole day to schive off work.

I would take it as the day of the event that started a small revolution, that revolution being the end of international terrorism. That day got several peoples heads out of their asses. Before that day, terrorism was tolerated and ignored, and it was more or less considered "politicaly incorrect" to attempt to bring down any terrorist group.

If you recall, the Clinton administration had a perfect oportunity to bring down bin ladin. They didn't move in fear of it causing an international incident. September 11th tought everybody that merely allowing these groups to exist is just asking for trouble.

I don't think it should be a national holiday either. "Woo-hoo, a day off" trivializes the whole event. A day of rememberence, like Pearl Harbor Day, would be more appropriate.

am sorry if my post offended anyone, i happen to live in NY and my school is located near ground zero i was lucky enough not to have to be there when the chaos was taking place since i had classes later that day.... of course what happened was horrific i can tell you some stories ive heard of one my mothers friends who was in the building but was lucky to make it out alive and what she saw as she was running out (you would think i was describing scene something out of a scary movie), not to mention the fact that one girl that was in one of my classes at the timed seemed to have dissappeared

I agree the Holiday should exist but not for the day off. It needs to exist to remember those who died.

I honestly think bush is doing a good job. What does he do that pisses you off?

Anyways, after a second thought, I think the day the last terrorist organization falls should be the holiday.

He was my Governor, I can name dozens of dozens of things hes done to piss me off.
