As a answer to Microsoft's price slash on Xbox, Nintendo's doing the same...from 249 euro to 199!

yup, its also dropped in Australia from 400 to $330 (like getting a free game)
Some nice numbers for us aussies;
"Nintendo has committed 50,000 units of NINTENDO GAMECUBE to Australia for the launch month with an estimated 200,000 for 2002. Day one will also see the most impressive and extensive line-up of software titles ever seen for a console launch, with over 20 software titles available, growing to over 50 titles available by the end of the year. "
Congrats Raging fuel, you just got 70 Bucks! :D

someone worked this out and i am too lazy to check.
Xbox - $399.99 AUD = $216.21 USD
Gamecube - $329.99 AUD = $178.37 USD
While in the us they still have to pay 200 GC and 300 $hitbox
gotta love getting a better deal than the states :P
Go nintendo Australia i say! :D

Hmm... quite what UK retailers will make of that is another matter. They who lopped £20 on the price when it wasn`t seen as profitable enough at £150. Mwuhahaha! GO EVIL NINTENDO! GO!

I`m waiting to see how the retailers react to this... heh heh heh. My guess is we`ll possibly end up paying the original £150 price if they decide to change it (possibly Nintendo`s intention?)

They haven`t updated their price yet according to a friend who works there. It *was* only decided yesterday that it`d drop. Nowhere had updated it this morning when I looked... amazon, gameplay and all the usual still have it at £169.99.

are you people mad? you're actually recommending woolies pick and mix? apart from being 6 months out of date with little childrens spit probably covering them, their selection is just plain awful!

"Electronics Boutique and GAME have confirmed that the GameCube will retail for just £129 in all of their stores - which means that Brits will be paying the same as their continental cousins. "
Hmm, must go check how much my `Cube is gonna cost me. More than ready to cancel the preorder to be able to put £40 to another game now... (ARE YOU LISTENING CURRYS/DIXONS?)

Just saw on the Currys website that they`ll be going with the £129.99 price tag too! CHEAP GAMECUBES FOR ALL! Well... unless
"Any orders placed after April 25th 2002 can not be guarenteed for Launch date of 3rd May 2002. Your order will be despatched as soon as stock is available."
Hmm... so, I placed mine two months before that date... looks like I`ll be walking home with one come Friday :)
