Your computer specs are not really good for the actual Dolphin version. How many FPS are you getting exactly?

unless you have a dual core, dont bother (for now atleast). i had a 3,6ghz p4 and it was slow even though everything else was good (gfx and ram)
i used the emulator on my laptop which is dual core 1,73ghz with intel gmax3100 graphic card which is supposingly trash compared to other graphic cards, and i can get more fps. (actually too too fast, so i have to increase resolution and other things for it to stabilize somewhat)

Dual-core won't really help unless the CPU and the operating system are 64-bit. Only then can you use the most recent Dolphin release.

thats really obvious though, it is given that you cannot use the latest version of dolphin unless using a 64bit... and if he already played it with slow fps, then im assuming he has 64bit.
as for dual cores and 64bit, one can check that online to see which support it and which dont.

It's thoroughly possible he's using the most recent 32-bit release. Perhaps the OP would care to comment?
