download hypercam or camstudio or something or use mupen its got a built in recorder.

I use Fraps, then compress it with VirtualDub

i dont use fraps cause it makes my computer laggy.

Yea, u need a pretty strong PC for it. and depends on the game you are recording 2. But Project 64 shouldn't be a problem. I see my specs aren't much higher than yours.
