View Full Version : Exciting new merchandise coming soon?

UPDATE:
If we're going to do this, we would not start an actual store and put a lot of money into it. We would most likely work with a company called cafepress, which will take care of ordering, printing, shipping and customer service (if needed :P).
We will not buy like 20 t-shirts, 10 mugs etc. and sell them ourselves, but instead we will get a percentage on all merchandise sold. The plan is not to start a money machine, but to have a little fun. :)
END OF UPDATE
Earlier today I discussed with Jabo (PJ64 author), Azimer (Apollo author) and Schibo (1964 author) about selling merchandise with 1964/apollo/emu64/emutalk/pj64 logos and art work on them, and they all agreed to it as a great idea. What do you think?
A skilled gfx artist could design new logos, for them to have the same style. One product could have several logos, or just your favorite one. Like a mouse pad with the Emutalk logo on or a t-shirt with all your favorite N64 emus on the front on back of it. :)
Who would you support through bying these products then? Primarily, the authors! How is that for paying a little bit of respect for the thousands of hours spent on these great emulators? Also, you would support all the websites hosted by Emu64 as it would help paying for the server.
What kind of merchandise would we sell then? Here's a list of ideas...
- T-Shirt
- Long Sleeve T-Shirt
- Ladies T-Shirt
- Tank Top
- Sweatshirt
- Pen
- Mug
- Cap
- Bucket Hat
- Boxer Shorts
- Mouse Pad
- Keychains (Slougi's idea)
- Stickers (Keith's idea)
Well, what do you say? Would you buy a product and support us? Vote at the poll I've setup! Also, feel free to suggest anything, and bring new ideas to our attention. Thanks for participating. :)

how about bras and pantyhose with the Bj64 i mean pj64 logo on them. You could also sell used panties, there are some pretty perverted people out there. Then with the money you make out of selling this shit you could try to buy out ztnet. Then you delete zophars site and you add a pr0n section. Shit, go for it!

I kinda agree to that. :P
Another product idea: keychains. You know, not those 1$/dozen ones, rather those which are a little more expensive :)

how bout emu64 brand ho's.
not the ho's you wear around your legs but the ho's you can do on the street (for a reasonable fee).
i'll even pimp the ladies on fridays & saterdays (for 60% of their profit of course).

Personally, I wouldnt buy emulation merchandise. Whenever I think of emulation key chains, mugs, etc, i think Bleem.. people trying to make a profit off a hobby which is in the gray zone category. I dont think emulation is ready for commericialism but thats my 2 cents.

i agree, this could promote emulators as products rather than hobbies and projects.

erm so ? if sombody wants to write an emulator and sell it theres absolutly nothing wrong with that, nobodys forcing people to buy it. the same applies to tshirts with a logo on. personaly i wouldnt mind wearing somthing that said emulation64 or apollo on, i visit the site a lot and im not ashamed of it so as long as they were tasteful, reasonably priced, and easy to order i would definatly buy one.

With the risk of insulting some persons I can honestly say that I wouldn't buy or even borrow a piece of clothes that had the text 1964, Pj64 or even emulation64 on it, and regarding leet talk, let's not even go there... Eventhougt it's for a good cause it wouldn't blend with the rest of my clothes, or my personal preferance. However an good looking Apollo t-shirt reasonbly priced would be of interest, but then again if I really wanted one I could make one myself, I'm not sure if this applies to all members, since I've access to the tools neccesary, so it's still a good idea.

(I have more than One)
As for the
- T-Shirt

now, a mug, keychain, stickers, a pen, or even a t-shirt (i probally wouldn't wear) doesn't sound so bad.
i'd be supportive of it.

Redah's got "Sex" printed in his fore head, and "XXX" on the back of his shirt. Won't tell you what's printed on the front of his shirt. ;)
But you can't blame him. :D

Okay... in a riff of those `classic` t-shirt slogans
"Emulation addicts do it for 24 hours straight..!"
Back print...
... "Because after that, you have to remove it from your hard disk."
