A group of people that i have encountered has taken the liberty of keeping a database that includes english nds rom information about any problems that occured when running the game, the particular backup media type, aswell as a link to a review of the game if you just want to check out a specified one.
To look at this database, you will have to download either mIRC or an equilivant that can connect to the IRC network. A simple guide to using mIRC can be found at http://www.thegoldcafe.co.nr/irc
That guide will take you to the greeting room of the group stated above, and for people who already know how to use mIRC / equilivant, the server is irc.star-fleet.net and the base channel is #thegoldcafe.
This group is continiously testing and retesting each english rom that is released for each nds emulator that gets updated. At the moment, the main focus is to test for new no$gba compatability for the roms.
If you are having any problems starting out or questions about how to run certain rom files, then you may ask questions to the current staff and they will help you out with your problems in real-time.
While the database that is used only supports english roms, there are people in the channel that may test non-english roms per request, so dont be afraid to ask.
