How come everything looks triangular on the video? Even the Dreamcast spiral logo is a big triangle. I have a "Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family" video card.

Your "video card" is the culprit. Well, it's not even a card, just an integrated chip. In short, Chankast will not work with any integrated graphics chip made by Intel. If you want to use Chankast, get an actual graphics card.
I suppose you have a laptop, in which case you don't have much choice. The only integrated graphics chips that supposedly work and ATI's and Nvidia's chips. So yeah, use a desktop computer.

Okay, but there's no fix or workaround or anything like that?

Unfortunately no. Well, the only workaround is to get a better video card.
With a driver update you'd probably be able to fix the triangular issue, but the textures/graphics in the game would still distorted or completely missing coupled with possible geometry issues.

Yes, you can fix it by buying a videocard.
