Oops. Died again.
Dunno why Yoshi's Story isn't working, someone mentioned that the graphics plugin doesn't allow it to play correctly.

As for the "No controller" problem you are having, have you made sure that the controller is set to "plugged in"? That might be the problem. And make sure to assign the keyboard buttons too.

I don't know what the deal is either, but half of the users I know say this game doesn't work for them. Maybe it's a Radeon thing? Works fine for me on Project64. Just use 1964, Mupen64, or Nemu64 if you're affected, but use Jabo's Direct3D 6 as your graphics plugin, or Glide64 if you want speed instead of graphics issues fixes and OpenGL is faster on your system's case than DirectX.

although yoshi's story has some graphics rotation glitches amongst other ones, it should be able to play. maybe you got a bad rom?

You skipped me. The game works just fine, but some users have a hard time running it on Project64 for some users but not for others. I'm guessing the cause is having some Radeon card or something. Half of everyone I know has this issue. Whoever's affected, just use a different emulator; you'd be amazed how other emulators can perform just as well as Project64 and how well the emulator is overestimated while emulators like Mupen64 and Nemu64 are criticized on other sites.

but there's one thing that PJ64 has that most other emulators don't: CHEATS. well i think 1964 has that too but PJ64 is more compatible with games. i use PJ64 & 1964 to resolve certain game issues. about Glide64 though, i find it does the opposite of what you stated Iconoclast in your first post: better performance with the sacrifice of speed ex-bomberman64 title screen, various interface issues etc.

but back on topic, i think your problem whiterabbit is you haven't configured your controller plugin properly. if it isn't checked off, check the "plugged" box to make sure the game recognizes your controller/keyboard.

Actually, Mupen64 is the only decent N64 emulator today that doesn't have cheats, so Project64 is not alone....

Wrong. Project64 doesn't always emulate games better than 1964. In fact, the majority of the time, if you pick a random ROM to play, if you start it in 1964 and then in Project64, you'll get the exact same ROM support results (except for speed, maybe) when using the same graphics plugin. In fact, 1964 emulates AI Shougi 3 with no issues, while Project64 really screws the game up. 1964 also emulates GoldenEye 007 better than Project64 when using the best graphics plugin for the game, Rice's Video Plugin. I could go on, criticizing the weaknesses of Project64 and ignoring its strongpoints, just like you all do except you ignore Project64's weaknesses and criticize the weakpoints of the other emulators, but I won't. To put things shortly, the emulator is WAAAAY overestimated, and I'm sick of seeing certain users saying, "Make sure you have Project64 and the latest RDB and you should be fine." every time someone posts an emulation issue. It boils me, because most of the time they say that, they haven't even tested it out for themselves to see if THEY have the same issue, for if they did, they would notice that the RDB and emulator have little to do with the N64 emulation issue, but the graphics plugin!

As for Bomberman 64, performance kind of is speed, ignoring technical definitions. If you use Glide64, the graphics should be just fine, and depending on your system, it could be slow like it is on mine or fast. I probably shouldn't have assumed a speed value; I'm no Glide64 specialist.
