er, um, having trouble making my own avatar, i put the pic i want into gif format and 100x100, and it still does not come up, um what am i doing wrong?

make sure you tick the check boxes

I can't remember for sure but make sure custom is checked and the board avatar is unchecked

No, just make sure that you upload your avatar first and then check use custom avatar, it took me a while to figure out...

Yeah, if you check custom, and then select the file to upload, for some strange reason, after selecting the file, it reselects the first default avatar.

yea, i had the same prob eagle, then i did the same thing through opera and it worked the first time;) o wellll...

You can use custom avatar, but the function is a bit buggy. As Remote and Eagle have pointed out, there is a way to avoid this problem. Listen carefully, I'll only explain it once:

1) From your User CP, click "Edit Options".
2) Click "Change Avatar" at the bottom.
3) Click "Browse" and find the avatar on your hard drive, or enter the URL.
4) Finally, check "Use custom avatar".
5) Submit modifications.

this board renders fine with opera, only time ive had problems was with the oooooooold emutalk board.
